Helmrich Towing is a year old firm starting its fourth generation.
The firm started in 1921 located in Camden, New Jersey, by Charles Helmrich, trading as Chas. B Helmrich Auto Repair.
In 1936, the company moved to its present location at 4450 Marlton Pike in Pennsauken, New Jersey trading as Helmrich Garage.
The company continued as an auto repair and towing facility until 1946 when Charles Helmrich future son-in-law, H. A. King, Sr., started working for him. The towing business increased significantly. The company stopped doing auto repairs, and focused on the towing industry trading as Helmrich Towing Service. In 1966 Charles Helmrich retired and H.A. King, Sr. took over and was at the helm until 1983.
In 1982, the company changed its name to Helmrich Transportation Systems, Inc. and was operated by H.A. King, Sr., and two sons Al, Jr., and Charles King until 1983. H.A. King, Sr. retired and his two sons operate the company until the present.
November 16, 2006 the company opens a truck repair and maintenance division, focusing on companies with fleets consisting anywhere from 1 to 100 vehicles. Service is professional, personable, and efficient. The mechanics hold themselves to a high standard of performance.
The 2500 square foot maintenance building is equipped with a 36,000 lb hydraulic lift capable of lifting truck 6 feet in the air enabling the mechanics to professionally service and inspect the entire truck.
The senior Mechanic on duty is well respected within the industry with over 30 years of experience.
